those supplements for myself because it is exactly a lack of light that causes my vision problems.

I didn’t realise that was a “thing” until reading it on the BBC website. I like Michael Mosley’s programs. Now I know that my night vision – I sound like Daredevil is something I can improve I’ll see if they work for me and look for other options as well.

I believe small improvements in as many areas of your life as possible have a knock on effect to other aspects of your life. Tony Buzan states this based on his research in relation to intelligence and that there are more than the conventionally accepted subjects like Maths, English and History.

The two magic ingredients for improving your eyes are:

  • lutein
  • zeaxanthin
    • and Meso-zeaxanthin – a form of zeaxanthin not generally found in plants, but it is made in the body from lutein

These can be consumed in a fruit, veg and leafy green smoothies mixed with a high fat diet to help absorb the ingredients into the body.

In Michael Molsley’s experiment, only 12 weeks later taking these smoothies his eyes had improved.

So, it looks like more evidence to support eating leafy greens like kale and spinach and good healthy fats.

I’ll write more about the Paleo diet in a while and link it here.
